Junior Quality Engineer

Eaton’s Power System division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Querétaro facility. It’s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours.   In this role you will:   Verify that the processes required by quality management system are established, maintained and, implemented; Inform to the Quality Manager about the performance of the quality management system and any improvement required.  Develop and review documents for the quality management system. Assure that the documentation of the Quality Management System is controlled and managed properly at the VSM. Assure that the documentation is updated and the correct disposition of material according with the engineering changes. Request engineering changes related to Quality. Assure that the customer requirements are communicated through the organization. Support and verify that the Quality Policy and Objectives are communicated thought the organization. Achieve on time the ISO 9001:2008 procedures required and the EQS modules. Verify that the Layered Process Audits (LPA) are carried out according with the program established. Participate and give support to the Internal and External Audits, 6S and LPA. Start and coordinate preventive and corrective actions from internal audits, LPA’s, QRB’s and customer complaints, follow up and verify the accomplishment of them. Verify that the calibration program is followed. Assure to keep the equipment in good conditions. Improve the quality indicators of the VSM area. Follow up DMR, Internal Deviations and Service Tickets status and assure to close them on time. Review and develop the quality reports required for the Quality Management System and Quality Product (Statistical Techniques). CONC improvement project implementation (scrap, rework, warranty, ppms, etc). Support to other key projects of the business.  Support to suppliers development according with the established supplier assurance procedure. To work with the suppliers to request corrective actions for nonconforming product and assure the follow up of these actions. Participate in the pilot runs of materials (sourcing, new designs, transferences, etc). Assure the material or product is inspected according to the work instructions, drawings and/or procedures. Update Control Plans, pfmea and IOMS. Validate and approve Standard Work Instructions. Assure to receive the required training to guarantee quality of product and assure that the employees of quality are also trained to guarantee the quality of product. Verify that operators work according with Training Matrix. Validate the training evaluation of the operators. Assure that the quality employees’ work in a safety environment. To promote a safety culture and an active participation in continuous improvement activities to contribute the work conditions in the plant. Achieve on time the internal and corporative procedures about the MESH and any legal requirement. To work with production, Engineering, Logistic, manufacturing, sourcing and materials areas with the objective of solve quality problems and improve the operation. Lead the investigations of the customer complaints with the core team of the VSM. Monitors / develops processes to ensure the payments are made compliantly meeting all internal control requirements and federal, state and/or local legislative requirements. Manages, motivates, develops and appraises the performance of a team of 18 employee process professionals by mentoring, coaching and providing opportunities to enhance current skill sets to grow in a dynamic changing environment. Analyzes payroll problems/issues, and implement action plans to resolve the issue and drive improvements.  Manages key operational performance metrics to achieve defined targets. This includes analyzing trends, providing analysis, and implementing action plans to drive improvements. Assesses the impact of key issues by coordinating resources (including cross functional) to resolve critical issues Partners with IT and payroll system supplier teams to ensure payroll application function as expected on a daily basis as well as coordinate production enhancements and production support / testing as needed to maintain production levels and compliance. Communicates at all levels of the organization by maintaining excellent working relationships with customers, senior management and 3rd party vendors with clear and effective results. Provides payroll functional support and SME to GFSS and corporate project teams in support of company initiatives (i.e., acquisition integrations)  Keeps current with key business changes, including regulatory, process/technical by attending seminars and subscribing / reading/sharing findings from various payroll publications Drive year end process to generate tax documents for all employees in Mexico     When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university  or 7-10 years solid in-house type payroll experience Prior supervisory / management experience Full knowledge of Payroll Statutory Requirements Customer Service oriented Strong analytical / problem solving skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities Proficient in Microsoft products Experience with Oracle (preferred) Understanding of the payroll process flow and the effect on downstream processes such as tax reporting/payments, general ledger, 3rd party vendor updates, and the employee Preferred Qualifications: Responsible for production year end / year begin process (timing / execution of events are critical) Coordination / communication with sites and vendors Responsible for year-end production of tax documents Coordination / communication with 3rd party vendors (project / testing / printing) Balancing / Required payroll jobs to balance and generate files for printing Functional lead for projects that impact production (i.e., standardization, regulatory, pay statements, functional upgrades, etc.) Provide support / guidance to sites for problems they encounter relative to transmit issues, corrections of erroneous data
